Mary-Elizabeth McMunn was appointed Director at the Central Bank of Ireland in 2018. She is responsible for the supervision and authorisation of banks, payment institutions and e-money institutions, and for the Registry of Credit Unions. Mary-Elizabeth joined the Central Bank in 1997 and prior to this appointment, held divisional management roles in supervisory risk, banking supervision and insurance supervision, as well as having worked for a period in consulting. She serves as an Alternate Member of the Supervisory Board of the ECB Single Supervisory Mechanism.
